Dicentra Titanium: a Bleeding Heart That Tolerates Heat

Dicentra ‘Titanium’ blooms in white over many weeks and its blue-green leaves stand up to hot weather.

Dicentra 'Titanium' is a bleeding heart cultivar with an exceptionally long bloom time. Its clean white flowers appear over many weeks, even as hot weather arrives. Its fine-textured, blue-toned foliage makes a pretty accent in the shade garden, too.

Dicentra 'Titanium' begins to bloom in mid-spring, with a heavy show of heart-shaped, pure white flowers arching over its ferny blue-green foliage.

Growing Dicentra 'Titanium'

Exposure: Part sun, filtered sun, full shade

How to grow it: Plant 'Titanium' bleeding heart in part sun to full shade and average, well-drained soil with consistent moisture. Although it tolerates heat better than many bleeding hearts, it may take a brief rest in summer if it is receiving strong sun. Dicentra 'Titanium' is most dependable as a repeat bloomer if it grows in shade. Winter hardy in USDA Zones 5–9.
