Plants We Love: New Jersey Tea

GreatPlants, a joint program of the Nebraska Statewide Arboretum and the Nebraska Nursery and Landscape Association, focuses on plants for year-round interest. And isn’t that what many gardeners struggle with—achieving year-round interest in the garden? That is why we love New Jersey tea, a small shrub with white flowers that is easy to work into any garden plan.

Flowers: White, emerging from pinkish red buds in summer

Occasionally this plant may die back in the winter. Fear not! It will grow back from the woody base. Its deep roots make it drought resistant. Attracts hummingbirds and many pollinators, too. It is deer resistant.
