Helianthus ‘Lemon Queen’

Plant name: Helianthus 'Lemon Queen'

Virtues: 'Lemon Queen' is so tall and lovely and self-sufficient that you can plant it once and enjoy it forever.

Flower color: Two-inch soft yellow flowers.

Leaf foliage: Three- to -five inch coarse, medium green leaves.

Goes great with: Given its height, it goes well with a tall grass, such as Miscanthus sinensis 'Silver Feather'.

Habit: Grows five to eight feet tall.

Season: July-September

Where does it come from: Native to the Midwestern United States.

Tips: Needs to have 24-inch spacing. Can be grown in practically any soil, but needs plenty of sun. This Midwest native will grow close to eight feet in height. USDA hardiness zones 4-9.
