Where does it come from: The plant, Brunnera 'Jack Frost' was discovered at Walters Gardens Inc. in a tissue culture propagated batch of Brunnera 'Langtrees'. 'Langtrees' is a Brunnera that originated in England and has a chevron silver pattern on the foliage. Since its discovery it has been patented in four areas and received numerous awards and accolades including Best New Perennial of the Year at the Plantarium Fair in Holland. It was named for the frosty pattern ice frequently makes on windows as the deep green veins on the silvery background are easily compared.
Tips: 'Jack Frost' is tolerant of varied conditions but does best in moist, well-drained soil with light shade.
