You may be busy planting new bulbs this fall, but don't forget to care for the ones already in the ground.
When you're planting bulbs this fall, don't forget to treat them and any existing bulbs to a dose of slow-release fertilizer. Use either a specific "bulb fertilizer," or any general fertilizer with a N-P-K ratio of 10-10-10. Follow the label directions to determine the amount. Add the fertilizer to the planting hole of new bulbs. Apply it to the top of the soil over existing bulbs and lightly scratch it in.
