Happy New Year to you, with heartfelt thanks for reading Horticulture and joining us online this past year. As we look ahead to 2023, I wish you much joy in your garden.
Are you making resolutions for the coming year? I’ve come to realize garden-related resolutions are the only type I really keep. My goals for 2023 include:
1. Replacing the lawn beneath our dogwood tree with perennials, including woodland phlox, sedges, foamflower and ‘Brilliance’ autumn fern.
2. Planting a mixed hedge with high value to birds along our property line.
3. Adding more evergreen shrubs and ground covers for winter interest. (I always think of this in December—but this year I’m making it an official resolution!)
As you dream of your own garden plans this winter, I hope Horticulture serves as a help. In addition to visiting us here on hortmag.com and subscribing to the magazine, make sure to connect with us on Facebook and Instagram. Happy gardening!
