Do These Perennials Need Sun or Shade
Sometimes I read that heuchera needs part shade to shade, and sometimes I read it needs full to part sun. Same with brunnera. Which is correct?
Answer: The climate can drastically impact how much sun each plant needs. In the North, more sun may be necessary whereas in the South, that same species will thrive when placed in a shady location (particularly afternoon shade). This holds true for plants such as heuchera (shown) and brunnera. These charming perennials flourish when exposed to more sun in the North; however, when grown in the harsher summer of the South, they need more shade to prosper.
