Upright verbena has always been a favorite of gardeners. They bloom continuously, are extremely low maintenance and attract birds, butterflies and bees. The one downside to the plant is it readily reseeds. This is great if you want to expand your stand of verbena over the years, but if you garden near a native area or a neighbor who may not be as enamored with the plant, it may cause issues.

Meteor Shower verbena is the solution! It is a denser, more vigorous variety that is also a bit shorter and sets far few seeds. It is at home in the landscape and the container garden. Like upright verbena, it does not require deadheading to continue its blooms, and it is heat and drought tolerant.
