The travel-planning website BnBFinder.com has outlined some bed-and-breakfasts with outstanding gardens. They are:
1889 White Gate Inn & Cottage in Asheville, North Carolina. The inn's award-winning garden is home to 18 varieties of Japanese maples and over 300 different varieties of perennials, roses and herbs. The garden also features a gentle waterfall and guests are invited to walk through the greenhouse and sign up for horticultural seminars.
Don Gaspar Inn in Santa Fe, New Mexico. There are over 600 types of flowers ranging from tulips, lilies, daffodils, heirloom poppies, irises, elm trees, apple and apricot trees to welcome and charm guests.
Chambered Nautilus Bed & Breakfast Inn in Seattle, Washington. The urban oasis offers an unpretentious landscaped garden with colorful flower beds that beckon guests to sit, reflect and meditate.
Azalea Inn & Gardens in Savannah, Georgia. Guests can sit on the front porch or on the deck and view organic garden beds, waterfalls and a fish pond. Jake Jacobson, the innkeeper, is an expert gardener and ready to dispense gardening tips and advice.
Neuton mowers teams up with Duracell
Neuton Power Equipment, manufacturer of the award-winning line of ultra-quiet, battery-powered lawnmowers, has tapped Duracell to supply the rechargeable battery for its 2010 lineup of walk-behind mowers. The Vermont-based company is offering a rechargeable Duracell battery as standard equipment on all 2010 model mowers. The 19-inch wide-cut Neuton will mow up to a third of an acre on one charge. The 14-inch Neuton will cover a quarter acre on a charge. The cost-per-charge is estimated at 10 cents, making this mower more wallet-friendly than a gas-powered mower, as well as more eco-friendly.
