Here are tips on placing bulbs in the garden so that they grow well and look their best, too:
- Use small bulbs like crocus at the edge of beds. Taller bulbs like daffodils and tulips can go deeper toward the middle of the bed.
- Plant bulbs in groups, rather than singly here and there. Clumps of bulbs look much more natural and impressive than random ones and twos.
- Extend the bloom season by planting some of the bulbs within a clump a bit deeper than recommended, some at the recommended depth and some a bit more shallow.
