Seed Gear from the Kitchen

Oak seedlingsTwo items that are likely already in your kitchen can give indoor seeds and seedlings a leg-up.

Cover seed flats with a sheet of plastic wrap after you’ve sown your seeds. This will keep the atmosphere humid and stop the soil from drying out. Lift the plastic wrap for a few minutes each day to allow fresh air to circulate. Remove it once the seeds have sprouted.

Lay a sheet of aluminum foil underneath flats once the seedlings have come up. It will reflect and maximize the available light.
