An Egg-Carton Seed Tray

A reader’s tip:
“By cutting the top out of a Styrofoam egg carton I make very inexpensive and effective seed trays. Using a utility knife and extra care, cut into the lid of the carton, making a window of sorts. Using a needle, you can easily poke drainage holes in the bottom of the carton. Leave the sides intact. After seeding it can be covered with clear plastic wrap for extra heat if that type of seed requires it. My ‘babies’ pop right out and into their permanent home real easy.”—Deon Sims, Lousiana
