I have been growing a very opulent crop of ilex vertillata for the past 5 years in the Piedmont of Virginia. This year, for the first time, I have very little berry on almost all my plants. One row is in full berry and the other 15 rows barely have fruit. No late frost, plenty of Southern Gents for my Winter Reds, no berries! last year was exceptional and perhaps I over-picked? But we had a horribly hot and dry summer. I think that is the culprit. Even have bees this year to help pollinate. Anybody have any ideas????
Thanks.
