New Free Online Gardening Magazine

We are thrilled to announce the creation of Horticulture’s first online magazine: Gardeners on the Go! The debut issue will be sent to subscribers on April 4, 2012. Gardeners on the Go is free—to get it, you just need to register now.

You may not know that Horticulture’s print magazine has been in continuous publication since 1904! We are one of the longest-running, most-trusted publications in the gardening community. The print product is NOT going away—rest assured that we will continue to publish in-depth articles complete with gorgeous photography and smart gardening information that will inspire and educate you as your gardening passion grows.

Gardeners on the Go will also inform you by bringing you time-saving gardening tips, small-space gardening ideas and healthy recipes for the produce you may be growing. It will also inspire you with features on public gardens around the country. These featured gardens will focus on design ideas and plant selections that you can replicate in your own spaces. You may just be so inspired you’ll plan a trip to one of these destinations. We’ll also reveal our favorite gardening products and books, and knock you out with gorgeous garden photography. We’re biased, but we think you’re going to love Gardeners on the Go!

We’re all busy, but no matter how hectic life gets we don’t want to give up our time playing in the dirt. Gardeners on the Go grew out of the realization that for many of us, myself included, are so busy with work and life that our gardening consists of tending containers on the balcony, growing herbs on the kitchen counter or sharing space in friends’ backyards or in community plots. My downsized gardening life is no less wonderful than when I had a full acre to tend a few years ago! Some of us also stay busy with what we call “garden travel.” Horticulture’s own Landless Gardener, Jenny Koester, fills her vacation time with trips that take her to outstanding public gardens all over the country. So Jenny is literally a “gardener on the go,” and we know that many of you are, too.

Register now so you don’t miss the first issue of Gardeners on the Go! There are four issues planned for this year, one for each season. We can hardly wait to share this newest gardening resource with you!
