Botanical name: Leonotis leonurus

Virtues: Showy, orange blossoms adorn tall plants, giving color and texture to the late summer garden. Hummingbirds love this plant.

Flowers: Deep orange blooms followed by striking spiny seed heads.

Foliage:
Grayish green leaves.

Habit: 5 to10 feet tall, in a bushy habit.

Season:
Late summer.

Companions:
Salvia guaranitica ‘Argentine Skies’ or S. ‘Purple Majesty’
